Not content with having a 60s style pub complete with “prison” fenced beer garden and “juke box” which we all pay for, Independent Hemsworth Town Council led by multi-millionaire Councillor Jean Eccles, are now using our Precept money to fund gambling machines at the Lakeside Café Bar.

The entry in the February 2022 accounts titled “Bandit Tax” is actually Machine Games Duty which has to be paid to HMRC.

Ferret would love to know how any income from gambling machines is recorded in the accounts of Independent Hemsworth Town Council, but given the fact most of these entries seem to be listed as cash, it’s anyone’s guess…

  1. It will be to pay for fence fixing again on farmers site. It’s down again today. Bet HTC staff end up fixing or paying for it.
