We’re all used to Mr Jim Kenyon rewriting history to justify his story telling, but even Ferret found this one hard to believe.
So, let’s get one thing clear, The Vengaboys concert was never about Jimmy, it was all for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and her Jubilee celebration!
What else can you do other than laugh!
This is an email, sent out to all Councillors by the former Chair of Independent Hemsworth Town Council, James Kenyon after he was replaced as Chair.
This is in response to an email sent to the Clerk by Councillor Maxine Hird and others, seeking bunting etc. for the Queen’s jubilee celebrations after the council had approved a seaside trip for our children and families.

Hi all , what a joke ..some Councillor’s were he’ll bent on cancelling THE summer festival which included a marching Drums and pipe band Not Brass band as stated by Councillor Hird,, with out putting things in place to replace our celebration.
Now as Maxine stated THE VENGABOYS ARE CANCLED” AND ” EVERYBODY’S HAPPY..
DID NOTHING TO replace our celebration.. And for the record 330 people who bought rickets weren’t HAPPY.
Can I ask is Maxine Hird AN EAST WARD COUNCILLOR OR SA FITZWILLIAM COUNCILLOR .. OR on Mars..

TIME TO STOP POINT SCOREING IN OTHER COUNCIL WARDS MAXINE
Once again, Jim Kenyon tries to rewrite history. He seems to have conveniently forgotten, that the original date for his show piece Vengaboys concert was some two years ago and was (fortunately for us) delayed due to Covid 19 and lockdown.
He then goes onto berate and belittle a Councillor, Maxine Hird, because she had had the audacity to try to arrange something the community would actually support, at a fraction of the cost, as well as taking an active role in all of the township of Hemsworth, Fitzwilliam and Kinsley.
Maxine Hird has been active since her election into office, along with other Town Councillors who are actually interested in this Community, in arranging events and attending meetings on behalf of this Township.
If anyone thinks this email is so bad and illiterate, it can’t be for real, Ferret can confirm it is 100% genuine and the contents are one of Jim Kenyon’s better efforts for actually being able to understand his point.
One obvious point that jumps out to Ferret, if Jim Kenyon had shown an interest in all the wards of this community, instead of a self-interest only in the things that were of interest to Jim Kenyon and associates, then the other Councillors wouldn’t have had to do it.
For the record Mr Kenyon, although Councillors are elected from wards, they are not restricted to those wards and every Councillor votes on issues that are brought before the entire Council.
Perhaps Mr Kenyon ought to try getting off his backside and attend a few meetings with residents or act on behalf of residents when needed.
As for the 330 people who bought tickets for the Vengaboys not being happy, tough, the vast majority of this Community are.
One last thought, perhaps poor Jimmy thought the up and coming celebrations were for the “Jubilee club” in South Kirkby that he brought to its knees and eventual closure with even the land that it stood on that was in a Trust, being sold off?

To be a good liar you need a good memory, maybe it’s the herbs that you can often smell coming from his bungalow, or COVID that causes his perception to be so skewed. Or maybe it was the other lot? It can’t be JK’s fault. How totally unprofessional to send such a toxic email out, has he forgotten emails leave a trail?
My only conclusion with regard to the email is.

Having a paddy.
Stomping his feet.
Sour grapes.
Poor little diddums.
How dare they spoil his fun, don’t they know who he is? Arms folded, bottom lip out.
Kenyon grow up. This is not make believe. It’s people, their money their community. Get out of your dressing up box you’re not a solider, not the king you can’t knight people, not Bob the builder, not a vet, not an H&S expert, not a teacher….
Your just a laughing stock a dangerously deluded one at that.
Resign along with your entitled, sheep friends and let people with real desire to do good by us all do the job.

It really should be concerned with an appropriate community event to celebrate the occasion. I am not a Royalist. But, I totally recognise the importance of this occasion to the vast majority of the community. It never was the case that a Dutch techno pop band should have been regarded as THE event. It should be about asking the community what it wants. Not imposing someone else’s fantasy on the community. This type of conduct regarding the email sending should not go unnoticed. The entire operating system of HTC is bringing the council in to disrepute, and it’s not what our representatives should be a party to. Complicity is just another word for collusion. The other councillors should stand up for our values, not those of an unelected former Chair.
