Most of Ferrets readers will be aware that Mr Jim Kenyon, Chair Independent Hemsworth Town Council, has made repeated claims that he is a Qualified Teacher and even used this claim on election materials to boost his status to the electorate.
Despite being challenged on this many times, he has continued the deception, a deception that is obvious to those that know him.
There is no official record of his Teacher registration number at the Department for Education (DfE) but he has continued his lying, stating it is “stored in his loft.” So, despite “knowing” where it is he still has not produced it.
Mr Kenyon has even taken a bet with a resident that he is a qualified teacher and told another resident to contact the Education Services if they require proof of his very dubious claim.
Ferret finds this suspicious, because it is obviously much easier and in his own interest, for Mr Kenyon to go into the loft of his bungalow and find his certificate to clear his name and reassure our Township that he is not lying on this very important issue. After all he is the one that has made the claim and Mr Kenyon has no problem working from heights in the bucket of the very expensive and little used digger he purchased on our behalf.
A resident has taken up Mr Kenyon’s offer and contacted the Education Department at Barnsley with a Freedom of Information Request, seeking the required verification of Mr Kenyon as a qualified teacher.
Quite rightly they stated they need permission from Mr Kenyon to proceed with the request to release any information.
The resident copied Mr Kenyon into the response and asked that he gives his permission for the information to be released and click the reply button.
Mr Kenyon did not reply to the email and the Freedom of Information Request was eventually closed.
Mr Kenyon has not paid out on his bet.
Mr Kenyon has not resigned from the council……..yet
What Ferret finds astonishing is that his “independent” colleagues are still supporting him.
Surely it is these Councillors who are also being tainted by association with Kenyon, that should be leading the campaign for him to produce his Teacher registration number, which he claims he has in his loft or for him to give permission for the Freedom of information to be released or RESIGN.
Kenyon a teacher don’t make me laugh, the only thing he can do is talk lie and deceive and those are his “good” points. He’s an insult to all that is decent.
Judging by the pungent aroma of cannabis that hits you in the face as you pass his bungalow theres likely something in his loft and its not his teaching qualification!!!
Makes me wonder how everyone seems to know but not the police odd to say the least. I don’t know much about these things but don’t they use dogs to sniff this stuff out.
Just been passed his bungalow walking the dog and it stinks as it did yesterday. Wether it’s him smoking/growing it or his son who is known to enjoy substances he is allowing it at his property it’s not what you would expect from someone in such a position.
