One of Ferret’s friends has done some investigative work into the finances of Hemsworth Town Council during times of Covid.

Ferret has previously made people aware that the income at Hemsworth Town Council actually INCREASED during this time as have others in their comments on my posts.

This was at a time when many in our Township were struggling to make ends meet or even have a warm meal each day.

Many people may not be aware that Hemsworth Town Council received various additional money, particularly as “open and transparent” Independent Hemsworth Town Council vary rarely, if ever mentioned these unless it was in the exclusion of press and public parts of meetings.

Ferret can reveal they actually received additional funding of £121,705.23 in total.

This is made up from a number of sources:

Furlough receipts were £73,813.43.

Wakefield Council support grant receipts came to £42,195.57. This included a provision of £1000 to deliver meals. Ferret recalls Independent Councillor Jim Kenyon bragging that he was doing this as a volunteer…

The Eat Out to Help Out scheme only paid Hemsworth Town Council £5,696.23. Ferret will let you do the Math on this one, needless to say it shows that the Lakeside Café Bar wasn’t very busy at this time.

Now Mr Jim Kenyon – Chair Independent Hemsworth Town Council may have you believe that their accounts for this period look slightly healthier than before, due to his astute business acumen – We know different…

  1. Isn’t most of this down to the clerk
Why is he covering for Kenyon
What exactly is this mam hiding
Bragging they delivered 11,000 meals during lockdown meals I will add didn’t start until 2 mths into the pandemic so i concluded they either had to wait for the Precept because they were skint or they waiting for the money from the government because they didn’t want to spend their pocket money on the parishioners I will stress that through out that whole pandemic they only gave £200 to food banks
Those food banks worked hard to keep people afloat
But yet he made sure his football friends were looked after through out it all
The accounts arnt healthy at all
What people do not understand is them reserves are spoken for with the sauls case if we lose we will need those reserves to pay the court costs etc and we may break even
If we win the cost will go exceptionally higher and we could struggle my worry is if this bankrupts HTC do they have enough money to pay a good redundancy to the workers of HTC
The Precept money is spoken for from the budget eg wages repairs etc etc
And 87,000 has to go into a charity funding

We have nothing for emergencies like the pandemic if it happens again

    Nothing

  2. The lies continue, so all this extra money, plus an increase in precept received and not forgetting, closure of some services so less operational losses and still no mention of the £200, 000 outstanding pledge to lower the precept. If and it’s a big if they actually do this it will be next full council election year so when this lot get kicked out it’ll be the new administration and this community that are left to deal with this Kenyon disaster. As for Kenyon working for nothing……… Don’t me me laugh, I just feel sick at the thought of this “good Samaritan” and lackeys with their pockets bulging with community money.

  3. How are they entitled to government handouts when they’ve lost no income and are not dependent on services to deliver a profit. They actually budget for them to make a loss. We are up shit creek without a paddle while this set of kenyon eccles’ womersley scum partied on.

  4. reminds me of something errm benefiting financially at the suffering of the poor working class shamefully exploiting grave situations parasitic vultures lot of em yes all of em the so called im not/ their not one of them brigade are allowing it i believe only one councilor tried to put a halt on the cabal juggernaut but was not supported making them in the least enablers massive vote of no confidence from me need clearing out n a fresh election needed with parameters t n cs etc

  5. Grants are available from HTC to “those who can demonstrate how they serve residents of Hemsworth, Kinsley and Fitzwilliam” . Newly elected councillor Mr Folletti received at least £1200 of this type of grant in dec19 and apr20 for his “help the needy” campaign. Please Shane if you are reading this…Please demonstrate proof of how this money was used?

  6. That creative accountancy is being indulged in is beyond doubt. That certain focus groups are also being indulged is also beyond doubt and why not when they’re your power base it would be foolhardy not to. The problems they’ll soon encounter is when they either have to tell such groups they can no longer deliver the wild exaggerated promises they made them or try to deliver them and decieve the rest of the electorate (majority) albeit briefly because you can’t forever engage in creative accountancy at some point the figures will not tally and at this point they’ll feel the wrath of the majority of those who have been conned. In their naivety and their dream filled stupidity and lack of experience in actual managing the public purse they promised all things to all men including themselves reality is staring them in the face. Their headlong rush in their pursuit to sell assets after such a short time in office the allotments in Fitzwilliam land in the newsteads are all sure fire signs of an administration who is fast failing in its housekeeping and knows the credit card is about to run out. ETHELBERT PUT THE KETTLE ON

  7. yer know people ask me what they doing carol town council .”.seen comments on hemsworth ferret and darnt comment them selfs ..why i asked ?scared of repercutions for saying what they beleive in ..says it all when town council intimidates the public…with out even approaching them lol….im baffled by our elected council yer reputation not good and people scared ..but cant fight alone to better kinsley comunity…. they all need to speak up to get something sorted …but can understand the implications they fear

  8. And unfortunately there lies the problem, if people feel intimidated or frightened to say how they feel. HTC has a duty of care to ALL of the constituents.
