Ferret understands just weeks before he quit his role as Independent Councillor – Hemsworth Town Council, Mr Ian Womersley was summoned to a meeting at Wakefield.

Wakefield Council seem to be as concerned as Ferret about the ongoing issues at Hemsworth Town Council under the leadership of Mr Jim Kenyon, Chair Independent Hemsworth Town Council.

Mr Ian Womersley, who continues in his paid role as Independent District Councillor for Ward 7, insisted that he is always questioning the real motives of Mr Jim Kenyon, Mr Gordon Eccles and Mrs Jean Eccles in Hemsworth Town Council meetings.

It is clear to Ferret, that Mr Ian Womersley has continually given his backing to Mr Jim Kenyon as recently seen when he voted to support Mr Jim Kenyon in his role as Chair when Councillor Hird had proposed a vote in no confidence in Mr Kenyon.

Ferret is not surprised Mr Ian Womersley has lied to Wakefield Council about this.

Unfortunately for Mr Womersley, his vote of support is recorded in the minutes for all to see on the Hemsworth Town Council website.

  1. Good thing this recording of how councillors vote Ferret, what can’t speak can’t lie, although I wouldn’t put that to a test with Kenyon.lol.
This just confirms what some of this community have be saying for a long long time, Womersley’s actions rarely match his words, tell people want they want to hear, then hope they forget. If they don’t it’s always somebody else’s fault, or raise another issue to divert attention. Just one more thing, do the decent thing and resign from Wakefield and let someone do the job properly and who is not just there to take the money.

  2. It’s history repeating itself from when he was a District Councillor last time. Certainly can’t be trusted. Wonder why he always wanted people to phone him up so there was no paper trail???

  3. i put a email in to hemsworth town coucil which should have been on agenda on thursday …which the reply was its a wakefield town matter and ian womersly is seeing to it ..ive not received anything from ian reguarding this email …even thou i wrote to hemsworth town didnt write to wakefield lol

  4. Love how he’s given up the role he’s not paid for. 🤔

  5. There are three Wakefield Councillors for ward 7. Why would the Clerk at Hemsworth Town Council only forward your email to one of them? In fact, Why would he send it to anyone else with out your permission? I’m sure this is in breach of GDPR.

  6. was he a councilor before for hemsworth what happened then im not quite up on that history only know ive never trusted him n im not afraid to say so did he get voted on to wakefield if he had any semblance of morals he would resign that position

  7. Contrary to the image he portrays, those of us who really know him notice that after he broadcasts what he’s going to do, especially if there’s work involved for him he disappears. It’s no coincidence that he’s resigned from his unpaid council job at Hemsworth but still cashing in at Wakefield where his attendance record is shocking. Looks like he can’t even be bothered to sign in for zoom meetings, and has never held a surgery.
