  1. Due to the 40 response limit that I wasn’t aware of I am going to have to do multiple surveys to allow everyone to have their say, I hold my hands up and apologise for not looking into it properly, but trust me it’s more difficult for me to analyse the data this way so I’m paying for my mistake. The idea is I’ll post a new survey at 9 am and 6pm
and close them around the 35 response mark, I ask people to only complete one survey for fairness.
One think I am noticing is that the comments are really useful so please add your thoughts.
    This mornings survey is here

Once that’s full this evenings will be here

  2. I think you can use Microsoft Forms for free. It maybe worth looking into this and starting the survey again to make it easier to analyse?

  3. found this from 2019. In an audacious move, Hemsworth Town Council is to hold a music festival next summer for 7,500 revellers and have secured the Dutch dance pop group, The Vengaboys, as the headline act.Hemsworth Town Council chairman, Councillor Jim Kenyon is confident the event will be a sell out.He said: “We said we wanted to do something special next year, this is a deprived area, so we asked our agent to put costs together for a concert.
“He told us about The Vengaboys and said we had to move quickly on it.
“They have a big following so I think we will make money on this.“We had 16,000 hits on our website within hours of putting it on. I would imagine it’s probably the biggest thing we have ever put on.”
But while Coun Kenyon is confident of filling the park, there have been concerns raised by some over the cost of putting on the event, which comes to £80,000 in total.
There have also been queries over the whether the park can accommodate that many festival goers.
Coun Kenyon says less than £7,000 deposit will be paid before the event, with the rest due once it is finished. He also says an expert has looked at the area of the park which will be used, suggesting it will be the size of a football field that could easily hold more than 7,500 people.
Coun Kenyon added: “You are always going to get people that are concerned and it’s good that they are, but we have discussed this in-depth for months.“We have been through everything in fine detail. We’ve even been in touch with farmers about using their land as a car park for 4,000 vehicles.”… ( some porkys being told somewhere )

  4. I was reading this yesterday too. So they’ve gone from expecting to sell 7500 tickets to 2500 tickets. If they’d actually built a business case they’d have worked out way before now what is needed.

The comments about ‘this is a deprived area’ is the one that really sticks. 32 pounds is the cost of the tickets, per person, when we’ve got so many people relying on food banks in the area it seems like such a crass move. It’s not affordable to many.

  5. OMG – So they were planning to accommodate 4,000 vehicles!! That’s absolute madness.
When Nostell Priory put events on a few years back, cars were queued on Doncaster Road for miles and many spent hours in traffic. The access and parking available in Hemsworth is much less accommodating!!
I’d be surprised if the actual Vengaboys manage to arrive at the event, on time or even at all.
Then HTC will be inundated with demands for refunds.
All this chaos on our doorstep and paid by us, when the ticket price means many can’t afford access.
    This is beyond ridiculous.

  6. Don’t go saying that the venga boys may get stuck in traffic we will end up paying for a helicopter

  7. Don’t forget Kenyon plans to close all the roads for the Nottingham Marching Band at the same time, against the advice received.

  8. Maybe it’ll be more entertaining to sit out on the side of the road and watch the nightmare unfold! We’ll need someone to walk along selling ice creams and a running commentary on a local radio – perfect day out, nil cost.
Well, it would be a perfect day out at nil cost – if we weren’t paying for it!!

  9. When reapplying for the alcohol licence at the Lakeside cafe. The town clerk and J*mmy had to convince the licence board that it was a safe and right thing to do, considering its close proximity to the lake! Part of the argument for… was the fact that the pub/ bar would be safely enclosed behind a fence/ barrier to the water! Yet when talk of revenue that could be raised at the Vengapeople concert…beer tents were mentioned!!! Danger..danger booze and water will not mix well! Recipe for disaster in every sense is this hairbrained scheme. I could write a huge list of pros and cons for it and I fail to see anything on the plus side!! Just sayin…again !

  10. im gonna sit in vale head park and sell me beers at cost lol …money to the food pantrys …hey is that illegal ?

  11. I sincerely hope that I’m wrong but I can see trouble brewing here. There’ll be screams of horror, stampedes, fist fights with security men, rushes on the gate to escape the melee, grown men and women will weep and wail their cries of horror will be Heard in faraway places like Havercroft and Shafton and it will be all in vain those gallant security men will not let the mob rule they’ll tell them “no you can’t leave till the concerts over you’ve paid in you’ve got to stay”

  12. lets all contact htc to rise our concerns n disagreement on the proposed concert and demand it be cancelled even a march to protest

  13. Hi kev, if you haven’t already please complete this survey

    https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/QFWNNQ9

I’ve tried to keep it as balanced as possible to show that I’m open to all opinions. I’ll be presenting the results to the clerk one week from today at the latest to share with all councillors

  14. just completed it donna pity htc didn’t do one b54 laying out almost 8k to date
