Just when Ferret thinks we’ve seen it all, the dirty tricks continue to get worse by the day.

Kenyon and his cabal cronies were elected on a campaign of lies aimed initially at the previous labour councillors, with rumour mongering and lying to the community in public meetings over a period of many years.

Their election leaflets were once again filled with their vile lies, appalling promises of what they would do when elected and they then supplemented this with a second round of leaflets containing even worse allegations against the former council and councillor’s just days before the election.

Over the last 3 years as their lies began to unfold, we saw the same tactics resurface. Firstly we saw the “last Lot” blamed for every one of their shortcomings, even after they had been disproved by their own forensic expert or they had had nothing to do with the events concerned.

We also saw the rise of their alter egos, the Badgers, Bowers, Edwards, who let loose on anyone they considered a threat.

Jim Kenyon and Jean Eccles also tore into people both verbally and on social media in their own names.

Councillors were intimidated in person for daring to oppose them, as were members of the public.

They tried to wreck the election of Melanie Jones to the District Council with the vile community wide smear campaign, using leaflets that was completely reminiscent of the allegations that Jean Eccles had be making not only about her, but Councillor Maxine Hird and the former Chair of the Council Tony Upson.

Well they must have thought it worked before and would again, but unfortunately it backfired with avengeance due to the power of social media being able to reveal the truth.

The cabal resigned one by one; Holmes, Bugge, Womersley, Folletti and Mitchell with Peter Hardacre distancing himself from them.

It became more and more difficult for them to the convince people they were really working for the community, due to Ferret and the due diligence of the good councillors and members of the public.

So what next came into the heads of the cabal as the gradually began to lose control of the council?

They engaged Kenyon’s plan B.

Plan B is simple (just like Kenyon)

Let’s make standing for election so unattractive that they will be able to prevent any opposition standing to oppose them.

Here we are, the start of Kenyon’s cunning plan B put in operation:

The dead rat sent to Steve Bugge and now Kevin Conway has been sent a hand written card “R.I.P Kevin” to his home address.

Sick is a word that springs to mind.

Ferret believes that this is only the start and the only answer is “People Power”, for the good and decent people of this community to come forward and stand for election to Hemsworth Town Council.

Let’s leave no seat uncontested and return a council we can once again be proud of and who will spend our money wisely, for the benefit of this area and not for their own personal betterment, vendettas or pipedreams.

  1. What’s more to say, anyone who supports these people must bear some responsibility.
They should be treated as piranhas, even that is not enough, it’s time to show them the door and the police to step up, do their jobs and hopefully show them another door with bars on.

  2. They are history!
Let them show their true colours during this election campaign and the community will see it and vote then out.
They should hang their heads in shame after the last 4 years – what a track record they’ve left behind!
They have abused their position of power by wasting so much of our precept, in one of the most deprived areas of the country!
It’s unbelievable, yet it happened and we couldn’t stop it.
BUT NOW WE CAN AND WILL STOP IT!
Everyone needs to make sure their vote goes towards support a totally honest and open future Council.
Plenty of candidates to choose from – we just need to choose wisely.

  3. For what ever reason someone or person’s are trying very hard to derail the upcoming elections using vile/disgusting tactics Remember this its not about independents been on the council but about having people with the right attributes/qualities to run HTC , some certain independent councillors have there own agenda but it doesn’t matter if they are re-elected ( personally I hope there not)so long as they don’t have any outright majority or sway to influence other councillors
A note for G Holmes, if Glen there is enough evidence as you allege to sink the ship then why don’t you attend a meeting and share your evidence? This is not a dig at you , because you might have reasons for not attending or alternatively use a proxy

  4. The community may not have much of a say in HTC meetings only 15 minutes but wow the community can have a say to determine the next 4 years and running of the HTC.
Hopefully it will be the biggest turnout on Election Day when the community can come together and vote for the true community councillors .
