As we are all aware, in May 2023 we will be given the opportunity to elect 15 new Councillors to serve at Hemsworth Town Council, for a period of four years.
However,
If there are not enough candidates to contest the seats, NO ELECTION TAKES PLACE.
The people who put themselves forward are ELECTED UNOPPOSED.
This happened in 2019, when JIM KENYON became a Councillor at Hemsworth Town Council by default.
Not a single vote was cast for JIM KENYON, who has decimated our assets and finances alongside his cabal “Independents” for the last four years.
Unfortunately for us, and anyone else who has to deal with him, Jim Kenyon is a narcissist.
He doesn’t see anything wrong in his extremely poor behaviours which have been highlighted over and over again.
Now to the most important part of today’s post:
Ferret understands that Jim Kenyon fully intends to stand as a candidate in the elections in May 2023.
He was elected unopposed in 2019, as there were not enough candidates that put themselves forward for election.
We as a community, can not allow this to happen again.
No matter what political party you feel aligned to, please consider putting yourself forward as a candidate for Hemsworth Town Council.
All we need are people that are HONEST.

The community deserves change and its the community who can finally have a say who will run HTC.Time to put the community and its needs first and give back the values that have been lost over the last 4 years,Honesty,Openess,Truth and Transparency and it’s our VOTES alone that can bring these values back.VOTES for the true community councillors and VOTES for change is desperately needed .

Regardless of who ever is elected to HTC A full overhaul of policy /procedures, standing orders etc is required to stop individuals , ,klicks , whatever you want to call them from making decisions off there own backs and any councillors caught out suspended/dismissed and other appropriate measures taken e.g involment of law enforcement agencies . The parishioners deserve/expect this as a minimum
