Ferret can report that a break-in has recently occurred at the Waterpark.
The thieves were able to break through a security barrier and steel doors before stealing the quad bike (again).
Apparently the state of the art security systems installed by Independent Hemsworth Town Council proved no deterrent and were disabled within seconds.
Ferret can hear all our readers asking “Where was our onsite security officer, Samantha Knowles at this time?”
Ferret can answer that:
Inside her flat at the Lakeside Café. The flat which she has lived in rent free for over two years of the Independents tenure.
Ferret has to wonder if the Eccles’ gate was locked?
Ferret hopes that Sam, Jean and Gordon are assisting the Police with their ongoing enquiries and as it is a live investigation, Ferret will not comment further at this time…
Security shambles its more than shambles its a total disgrace. To have 1 quad bike stolen is enough but 3 totally unbelievable ,what was security doing why was it not tightened up after first theft, surely the insurance company dealing with the claim is questioning what happened always summizing it is being dealt with an insurance company.Should not the other councillors now be asking major questions about the security at the water park and how it is manned and how 3 break ins have occurred on their watch.Again if another purchase is requested for a quad bike hopefully the councillors will vote a big NO after all we are paying for it.Maybe next councillor meeting agenda security and not in exclusion of public.
Having worked with alarm systems a number of years a few points come to mind
1. was the building/ site properly surveyed by an approved person
2. Was the correct system installed I.e graded system for the site.
3. Was a automated response installed ( should have been given vulnerability) this would have a given time in which to response.
Of course though nobody would have expected a women on there own to investigate ,what is the policy ?
