Although mentioned in a number of posts throughout the last year, Ferret has not reported directly about the “Catering Trailer” which Independent Hemsworth Town Council purchased shortly after taking over from the previous Labour led Town Council in May 2019.

In the Finance Meeting held on 21 November 2019:

272 MOBILE FOOD AND BEVERAGES UNIT Resolved that the chair look into the matter and report back in due course.

Councillors Dodson, G Eccles, J Eccles, Hardacre, Hirst, Kenyon, Mitchell, Wilson and the Town Clerk – Mr Draper, were at this meeting.

This was subsequently purchased on 20 April 2020 from a “Paul Reather”….

When researching Mr Reather, his company is called D & P Tank Cleaning Services.

D & P Tank Cleaning Services list their Head Office as at Unit 21, Hoyle Mill Road,  Kinsley.

Well, what a stroke of luck for Councillor Jean Eccles, she managed to locate a catering trailer which was for sale just outside her own front door.

Who would have thought it?

A tank cleaning company selling a catering trailer, just what Councillor Eccles was looking for.

Not only did this cost us £9000, Independent Hemsworth Town Council then spent £1000s on renovations and repairs to make it useable.

This has raised a number of questions with Ferret:

  • Where is the report from Councillor Eccles?
  • Did She use the Laptop which we purchased for her to prepare the (non-existent) report?
  • Who approved this purchase?
  • Why has it only been used a handful of times since its purchase?
  • Why would Independent Hemsworth Town Council allow external catering providers to stand at the Waterpark and leave the Catering Unit in the compound unused?
  • Is this the same catering unit which sold food to the public, without authorisation from Councillor Eccles driveway at a previous Bonfire Night, prior to May 2019?

And in answer to Ferrets question – Who is Jean Eccles catering for?

HERSELF…
