Ferret has been contacted by another very concerned member of the Parish.
This concerns an alarming issue with regards to fire safety.
Readers of Ferret may recall Independent Hemsworth Town Council led by Mr Jim Kenyon instructing the Town Clerk – Mr Draper to convert the Lakeside Café into a Bar at “whatever the cost” shortly after taking control from the previous Labour led Town Council back in 2019.
This including the construction of a fence around the Café, which has been likened to a “prison”.
The photos shared within this post were all taken during the daytime when the Lakeside Café Bar was open and being used by members of the public.

Ferret would have hoped with an onsite member of staff “Sam Knowles” formerly known as Head of Security but now General Manager for Hemsworth Town Council, that issues such as the health and safety of each and every member of the public using the facilities at Hemsworth Water Park and the staff working there would be paramount – Clearly it isn’t.
Maybe Independent Hemsworth Town Council could seek advice from a company specialising in Fire and Security….
They like their fences and gates don’t they? They are making it a no go zone for anyone but themselves. Safety wise do they not have to get this passed by the health and safety executive or fire service. Won’t their insurance be invalid? So many questions.
