Ferret feels that once again Independent Hemsworth Town Council led by Mr Jim Kenyon has been disingenuous with members of our Township and in particular the residents of Fitzwilliam.
In a recent post, Ferret invited residents to put forward ideas for the former allotments site in Fitzwilliam. This was in response to a message from a local resident who had been invited by Independent Hemsworth Town Council to put forward an idea for the future use of the site.
Ferret can reveal today that in a document published in September 2021 by Peacock and Smith on behalf of Gleeson Regeneration LTD, that plans have already been drawn up for this site.
The document states that “Gleeson has additionally undertaken discussions with the owner of the north western part of the allocation, which relates to the disused allotments.”
The plans provided, show that the Land at Club Terrace Allotments, Wentworth Terrace, Fitzwilliam (Site LP763) will house approximately 150 dwellings.
Ferret also finds it interesting that not only the former allotment site is included, but also Priory Business Park and the land in front of it.
So “Independent and Transparent” Hemsworth Town Council, Why, once again, have you failed to share this very important information with members of our Township?
Deception after deception lie after lie, decisions taken out of council or in exclusion of the press and us the public. There can be no justification for this not being disclosed in full.
It’s plain for all to see from this document that the situation is at an advanced stage because the developer has even gone so far as to draw plans up for the site. Clearly there’s been no consulting with us the residents of the village and I suspect that neither has there been any consultation with the three labour opposition councillor’s who all happen to come from Fitzwilliam. Yet more proof if any were needed of the shape shifting disingenuous antics of a council who had little credibility before it’s election and is now seen in the eyes of many as a corrupt rump. For the good of us all the quicker these are removed from office the better. Openess transparency!!! They can’t even spell the words they’re but a minor mirror image of the current idiot and liar in chief of the country
Oh dear is this why Ian Womersley abandoned Fitzwilliam? It’s nice to know where people’s loyalties actually are. No public consultation, again, so what is so special about this development that needed it to be top secret? Isn’t this also where HTC employed valuers with a partner or employee with a very dubious history?
Despite battling Saul for many years regarding the kirkby road sports complex and clearly not wanting houses on the site.Wasn’t there once an agenda item where it was to discuss an alternative builder to construct houses at kirkby road!! The discussions were to be with the very same construction company in question on this post today…GLEESON HOMES!
Has the land actually been sold? Where is the monies? We all know land the can be built in goes for more than land that can’t, how much did it go for? Where is the money?
Why have the people of fitzwilluam been consulted too late?
The builder has made plans, this is a very late development stage. They aren’t thinking about it, they are doing it.
Get these councillors out now they lie, they are doing exactly what they blamed the previous council for only worse.
A local councillor claims”nothing has been decided yet, it will be at least 2 years until anything is done”
