A Seasonal reprise of – A few but only a few of Kenyon’s “achievements” in brief.

On the first day of Kenyonmess, Jimmy gave to me… AYR

Before you can begin to really appreciate Mr. Kenyon’s “achievements” that go back for over a decade, you need to recall the start of this majestic rise for this god amongst men.

Mr Kenyon made a very speedy return to this area from Ayr in Scotland after taking over a greyhound stadium that included a football pitch, changing rooms, floodlights and social area for community use. The stadium was also home to one of Scotland’s best junior football teams.

Despite promising investment of hundreds of thousands of pounds, within a comparatively short time he had left the stadium stripped, devoid of floodlights, closed for health and safety concerns, was stripped of his lease by Ayr Council and the stadium in need of over £400,000 of remedial work and a football team homeless.

Now any normal person would have learnt a few lessons from this, but this all knowing, omnipotent being that is Kenyon used his expertise to bring the standards he worked to in Ayr to his Home Township and from tomorrow we look at some of the projects that he deemed not to be fit enough for “Kenyon World”…

  1. If anyone needs a reminder where we are headed with Jim Kenyon this is it, read it and weep. There is still time to pull back from this action over his pipedream of a Kenyon way sports complex, I know even this will be costly but nowhere near the wipeout we could be facing if he is allowed to continue with his spend spend spend of our money.

  2. There is definitely something seriously mentally wrong with Kenyon, even an idiot would have learnt by now so what does that make him? If he wants a grand memorial he should try using his own money and pay us and all the others he has taken money from back and disappear quickly.

  3. Were today’s water park just being considered and just a drawing of a plan on paper then that’s where it would stay. Times have changed the world as changed our country as changed we now have to consider fiscal policy in more greater detail it’s called living within ones means it’s a sign of the times and it’s here to stay. That a so called town council not a district or metropolitan borough council are even considering such hair brained schemes as what they propose at Kirby road serves only to show the insanity and naievety of those currently running HTC. The chief proponent of this scheme by his own admission said the project would cost around six million pounds without the added cost of maintenance and continued running of the place which would grow exponentially. To put things in perspective let’s do a comparison WMDC recently opened in Pontefract park a leisure centre and pool at a cost of 22 million pounds. Now that centre will be partially funded by subscribing members the rest of it’s financing will come from the entire council tax payer of the whole of Wakefield district of which there are thousands as against a mere few thousand precept payers of HTC. 22 million against six million the economics are simple the burden to WMDC council tax payer reasonably small the burden to HTC precept payers immense. The lunatics have well and truly taken over the asylum.

  4. That’s alot of words.

Hemsworth waterpark is easy. Go to open tender for a private initiative to run it. Get it going properly and not run by idiot’s.

Get some German / Xmas markes into the park on weekends. Get a weekly carboot. That’s 3 ideas in a minute.

  5. I don’t think lord and lady Eccles would appreciate the extra traffic and visitors to their stately gardens, please bear in mind they recently had some carpets stolen from their garden.
