Readers of Ferret will no doubt recall my post regarding Councillor Eccles’ and the disgusting misuse of Independent Hemsworth Town Council resources, which were used to remove and then burn their old carpets.

The full post is here:

Following my post, some members of the Township complained directly to Mr Draper – Clerk, Independent Hemsworth Town Council and this is his reply:

This reminds Ferret of the following sketch from the BBC Comedy “Little Britain”

Ferret believes this shows that Mr Draper is clearly complicit in the underhanded dealings of Independent Hemsworth Town Council…

8 thought on “Councillor Eccles’ new carpets…UPDATE”
  1. How stupid do these people think we all are, this excuse reminds me of a kid covered in chocolate saying they hadn’t eaten any. Quite apparent that Mr Draper is totally involved in all the unacceptable practices that are happening at Hemsworth council with the other councillors who appear to be beneficeries. This council is way out of control it’s time for Jim Kenyon and followers to Resign and that includes the Town Clerk.

  2. He must think we all arrived with the bread this morning at tesco for goodness sake man stop trying to defend the indefensible and making yourself look very foolish in the process

  3. Totally unacceptable response to the correspondence regarding this matter. Not sure which annoys me the most , the fact they think we will believe this explanation or that we should believe it.

  4. Strikes me a full forensic report is needed into this council, I bet they won’t have one done this time though they know a good firm called Frenkel.

  5. It could be that the HTC employee(s) has been undertaking work for Cllrs G and J Eccles for quite some time, and this is only the tip of the ice berg.
I’d like to know who actually laid the new carpet – was it the same employee?
If so, did they leave a list of odd jobs to be competed while they were away on holiday eg a bit of painting n decorating perhaps, clearing the yard, feeding and walking the dog, putting the bins out…..etc ?
Also, if this is the case, was there a financial incentive in recognition of these favours?
Do the HTC employees enjoy any independence from these Councillors?
Will there be another display of generosity at the next staff Xmas party at the Lakeside?
This limited response from HTC just throws up far more questions!

  6. at the meeting last night jean eccles stated she was abroad didnt mention mr eccles …but he did attend rememberance sunday at 11 oclock in kinsley …which we havent had in years according to mrs eccles arguing about time it took place 10 oclock trying to belittle maxine …well mrs eccles like you stated you and your husband are kinsley councilors you should have organised it ..bull shit

  7. Well this is the reply to my email asking for a more substantial reply than what others received.
So according to this reply, we are still asked to believe that no instruction was given to remove the carpets, the person just took it upon themselves to trespass and steal the carpet and dispose of them in the skip. They really do think we are stupid.
    Hello
    In response to your queries
1 – The council worker was not instructed. He/she did it unilaterally. I can assure you it will most certainly not happen again as I have personally instructed him/her.

2 – The skip has since been emptied.

3 – Sometimes there is some limited burning of rubbish but staff are aware that any such burning is minimal and must not cause a nuisance. HTC uses the services of WMDC for refuse removal.
