Ferret has to wonder where the Newsletter has got to that was promised by Mr Jim Kenyon Chair Independent Hemsworth Town Council. It was supposed to be delivered during the week beginning 18 October 2021, but has yet to make an appearance in my burrow.

Has anyone else received a copy yet?

Ferret wonders if it will ever appear…just like the newsletter Independent District Councillor Mr Ian Womersley promised week after week which never materialised…

8 thought on “Newsletter…”
  1. Heard a whisper that they had to pull it as they realised there were too many of Kenyon’s lies on it and the scrutiny that they’re now under means they could no longer get away with it. Haven’t heard whether it’s been rewritten or forgotten, but no doubts it still cost us a pretty penny as it was allegedly ready for delivery.

  2. The newsletter was last seen being dragged underground by Kenyon in a Badger suit

  3. To be honest Ferret, if the Newsletter contained key items which addressed our concerns, I would probably care. But, in the past two years it contained propaganda to boost certain egos, so I’m not interested (- other than it is funded by our precept monies!).

  4. Linda if you listen to the live streaming of the extraordinary meeting on the 12th October, a lady asked at the end of the meeting about how are residents not on FB or the internet suppose to know of things like the brass band etc. That is when she was informed a newsletter would be going out to everyone.
Some people will not be aware of some of the things that have already taken place. So yes I can understand your point of view, but the council have a obligation to ensure ALL the people in the community are invited to these events ( most of them are Free ) that they will have contributed towards.

  5. I agree, this information might be extremely useful before the events.
Certain events occur year on year, they are predictable. So our council can plan to have communications in place to allow everyone to the opportunity to take part.
However, the last newsletter was back in December 2020 and, apart from informing us of the forthcoming lunches over Christmas and New Year and the meetings to be held in 2021 (some actually dated 2020!), everything else related to the past and wasn’t “news”.
On top of this, I never received a hard copy and found out about it in February 21, in the minutes.
So, in theory a Newsletter is a brilliant idea. Quarterly or monthly would be ideal, as things progress throughout the year.
Other Parish Councils, with a faction of the income ours benefit from, manage this as a matter of course. I have no idea we we are restricted to one a year.
And by saying the events are Free of Charge, because we have already paid for them, doesn’t make sense.
Sorry, but I’m beginning to feel that most people are willing to accept any sub-standard service without any challenge or scrutiny.
Things will not improve unless we call thing out.
We deserve so much more for £1.0m spend a year!

  6. they wont answer any question face to face because people see through their lies so darnt commit to writing them down that would become documented evidence they refusing to honour their pledge to meet me and answer my questions that they promised at last meeting bet no one will commit to printing and being part of a cabal invective false information bulletin vice is tightening rats trying to distant themselves from the cesspit, time to drain the festering swamp

  7. going on how long it takes him to reply on badger page , after numerous snakes slither over a response palatable to post this month’s newsletter will be ready to print in 2023 but it will be full of lies and invective slurs

  8. In the Finance committee meeting last night 11th November
Newsletter going to printers next week and will then be sent out.
