Ferret has been contacted by members of our Community regarding the proposed opening hours at the Lakeside Café Bar over the Christmas period.
Independent Hemsworth Town Council are proposing to open on Christmas day and to close on Boxing Day.
Ferret finds this strange given that Christmas day is usually the quiet day, where people stay at home or visit their families. Everyone knows that Boxing Day is traditionally the day that people go out and celebrate so would surely be the busier day of the two.
So, with a business head on (which obviously excludes Mr Jim Kenyon – Chair of Hemsworth Town Council) this does not make any sense unless…
Christmas Day opening…ticket only meal included – Councillors, Families and Cronies invited.
Boxing Day…Closed private function – Councillors, Families and Cronies invited.
Just to even think about opening Xmas day and closing boxing day, one of the busiest days of the year confirms what we know about this expert business man that is Kenyon. It’s quite obvious why all his business plans have ended in disaster, and we are headed the same way. A lot of damage has already been done, let’s hope we can remove this imbocile and lackeys before it gets irreversible and he scarpers with his pockets full.
Lady of the manor said last night it was cheap and lots of people said they would go back again after opening Christmas day the first time. I tell you now I don’t go out for Christmas dinner but if I did that placr with all the HTC cabal would not even be the last place I would go. Past experience of food down there does not entice me. They are far from gourmet. Lady of the major said places like the catchpenny charge up to £75 per head, I agree this is out of reach of most people. I also get that staff wages etc do contribute to the price. When she said that employees were more than happy to work Christmas day and would do it every year that did make me think. Who is happy to give up Christmas day every year.
On the whole this most definitely smacks of a party for the boys.
The cabal of Kenyon, Eccles & Wilson are stuck in the glory days of the Waterpark when it was used very successfully. But times change and the people who used to frequent it have moved on.
She claimed Catchpenny was £75 quid. It’s £50 for a 4 course meal & the menu can be found online.
Burntwood Court is closed Christmas Day. It has events on Xmas eve and Boxing Day. Now there’s a successful business man if ever I saw one.
As we know Kenyon has some kind of bitter rivalry going on with Saul. Perhaps he is trying to emulate him.
It’s not working. He can’t copy his success and he can’t better his success.
Very strange logic indeed open the slack day closed the busy one. Maybe Santa will come down in the lift.
So why put it on the agenda when you have already decided what you are doing.
See lakeside FB page where it’s already advertise on 16th September.
