This article has not been an easy write for Ferret and will not be reported in a disrespectful way and I advise any animal lovers to think carefully and avoid reading it as it contains details of animal cruelty and does not have a happy ending.
Justice for Bobby
We live in a community which itself contains a Greyhound Racing Stadium. so this concept is not new to us. However, what may surprise you is that there are two distinct types of greyhound racing:
- The regulated venues
- The unregulated venues known as “Flapping tracks”
Flapping is basically an unlicensed version of greyhound racing that takes place in the UK. These events took place at such a Venue, a Flapping track at Askern.
Bobby the greyhound, was deprived of vet treatment after sustaining an injury at Askern greyhound track.
Kerry Elliman, founder of Birmingham Greyhound Protection wrote this statement on being informed about Bobby:
“On Sunday evening I got a message from my friend who had just been to a greyhound flapping track (Askern). He Saw a white male (Bobby the greyhound) go crashing into the fence, rolling 3 times then getting back up and running with his back leg clearly broken. My friend went up to the trainer who was dragging this boy (Bobby the greyhound) and telling him to hurry up. My friend pointed out the poor dog couldn’t walk but the trainer refused to pick him up as he was too big. This boy was heading straight to be put to sleep because with a broken leg he wouldn’t race again which means he won’t make money.”
“The poor boy wasn’t checked by a vet as there was no vet on site so he was just left with his poorly leg.”
On appealing for further information, we received the following reports from insiders;
Mr Robert Smallwood and his friend, Mr Tony Mongey had arrived at Askern track with Bobby at 9am on 14.02.16 whilst no vet was present. Bobby was hand slipped by both men at 9.25am.
He crashed into the railings and sustained a broken hock. Bobby was then taken to their van and left for at least one hour, alone and with an injury whilst the men had breakfast. The dog was later taken back home with them and did not see a vet under their care. Bobby was left overnight without any veterinary care whilst carrying a broken hock. It was not until the following day, that Bobby was taken to Birmingham Greyhound Protection.
Birmingham Greyhound Protection immediately took Bobby to the vets and agreed to pay £2000 for his treatment, but it was too late. 2-year-old Bobby passed away whilst under anaesthetic, it was all too much for his body to handle.
What has all this to do with Hemsworth Town Council you’ll probably be thinking?
Just who was the Askern greyhound welfare officer?
None other than Mr Jim Kenyon
And one of the main differences between a regulated track and a Flapping track is:
A flapping track is not required to have a vet in attendance.
So, if no vet was in attendance:
- Where was Mr. Kenyon, greyhound welfare officer, when Bobby the Greyhound suffered a severe injury whilst racing at his dog track?
- Where was Mr. Kenyon when this poor seriously injured animal with a broken hock was dragged away whilst in excruciating pain and bundled and left in a van?
As you know, Mr Jim Kenyon’s interest in dog tracks goes back many years, Kenyon the destroyer and the destruction he was responsible for to the community in Ayr, Scotland and here we sink to even lower depths, in another “expert” role as a Greyhound welfare officer and it’s not surprising that his interest is in dog racing is in unregulated flapping tracks with very dubious goings on.

This is not our Kenyon but just a coincidence with the name and he is a reputable investigative reporter,
The report will highlight to many, the real reasons why Jim Kenyon has had a keen interest in this “sport” for many years.

I have said to many people that the stench of cannabis that comes from “its” bungalow is not what is expected from someone publicising himself as an upstanding member of the community. This thing has nothing, nothing at all to redeem himself.
RIP Bobby.. you didn’t deserve what you went through.

Further information in the article above that proves Jim Kenyon was the welfare officer at the time of this incident. The mobile number listed matches the number provided for Kenyon on the HTC website. Was information being asked for an act of remorse? But as ferret asks where was kenyon at the time of the incident? Also what qualifications does one need to hold to take up the position of welfare officer?
Is there anything this “thing” does that is legal???
At this moment in time I am lost for words. I am unable to write an appropriate comment, only a few words for now, poor Bobby, the wrong ” animal” sadly died.
This appeal by scumbag Kenyon was not remorse but an attempt to save his own neck. Caught out again not doing or unable to do another of his so called vocations. As a result Bobby suffered while Kenyon ” played” somewhere else. Just an attempt to divert from the fact that he, the Greyhound welfare officer did nothing. Sounds very like what he and womersley are trying to do now having been caught out lying over the woodlands development . Remember don’t trust this cabal ever!!!!!!!!
Aren’t there children living in that property? Surely it needs to be reported for their safety? To the police? Their school maybe if it’s known where they go?
Well I don’t know if officially but they are often there. It has been highlighted in the past. However I’m unsure as to how seriously the police took it.
This man has the audacity to wear her majesty’s uniform and our Council chain of office. The only chains he should be in are high security prison chains. So disrespectful, do the decent thing, you’re outed, go and take womersley, Wilson and anyone else who supports you, go and go NOW

I have to say in the past I have seen posts on social media about protesters outside Kinsley dog stadium. I never looked at what their objections were. After ferret’s post and this I’m sickened, how can anyone be so cruel and callous. All apparently for greed and their pursuit of money.
Then to think someone who is in public office is a party to and obviously condoning such practises, it’s just vile.
Even knowing how horrid this “thing” is I am still shocked and horrified. I know he has dogs I believe greyhounds, I really hope that they are treat far better. This “thing”, I can’t call him a man, is so unlawful it beggars belief. He’s a liar, a cheat, a con man, an adulterer, and now obviously condones animal cruelty.
Is his wife and family oblivious to all this, are they too scared to object or are they basking in his unlawfulness.
He needs to go he needs exposing for what he is, to the whole community not just the ones who read Ferret’s posts.
