As most Precept payers will be aware Hemsworth Waterpark has its main entrance off Hoyle Mill Road in Kinsley.

At the side of this entrance is a large house “Craven House” which belongs to Councillors Gordon (Harry) Eccles and his wife Jean. The access road in question leads directly to their home.

In a Policy and Planning Committee Council Meeting held 4 July 2019 there was an item on the agenda:

HEMSWORTH WATER PARK

a) Poor state of entrance area and lighting

Resolved that the entrance area be repaired.

Ferret can confirm that the main entrance road off Hoyle Mill Road in Kinsley, belongs to WAKEFIELD COUNCIL.

Ferret believes that Independent Hemsworth Town Councillors Gordon and Jean Eccles were both fully aware that main entrance road off Hoyle Mill Road in Kinsley (their driveway) belongs to Wakefield Council…

So,

Why have Independent Hemsworth Town Council spent YOUR money on repairing this road?

Will we ever get a written response to our questions submitted to Independent Hemsworth Town Council and Mr Kenyon from the meeting held on 12 October 2021?

  1. this needs questioning along with who financed the development of the car park on old farmers site and how are they allowed to make money from it

  2. On the photo…why is the street lampost in the yard ? Surely it should be in the road !

  3. If town council have funded it why hasn’t the entire road been resurfaced into the water park

  4. They,’ ll do the rest of the road when me lord and me lady Eccles officially take over.
