There have been a number of factual posts on Ferret regarding Sam Knowles – Head of Security at Independent Hemsworth Town Council including:
More interesting to Ferret, are the posts on Facebook claiming not only has a job been created for her which didn’t exist prior to Mr Jim Kenyon and his Independents taking control at Hemsworth Town Council and that she also lives rent free in the flat at the Lakeside Café Bar.
Ferret can confirm that the previous tenants of the flat were asked to vacate to allow Samantha Knowles to live there.
On checking the https://services.sia.homeoffice.gov.uk/ website which holds the database for the industry recognised qualifications for the job which she holds, Samantha Knowles is listed as being licensed in “Door Supervision” and “Public Space Surveillance (CCTV)”.
According to this website she obtained these qualifications in July 2019 and February 2020 respectivley.
As posted yesterday, according to Mr Alan Draper – Clerk Independent Hemsworth Town Council the role of “security” did NOT exist in June 2020 at Hemsworth Town Council.
Therefore, Ferret believes this raises a number of questions:
When did the role of “Security” become necessary at Hemsworth Town Council?
What processes were followed to add this to the staffing structure?
Did Hemsworth Town Council pay for Samantha Knowles to be trained in “Door Supervision” and “Public Space Surveillance (CCTV)” ?
If so, Why?
Was the job advertised and a full recruitment process followed?
Was the position budgeted for?
Taking everything into account and the fact that Samantha seems to be a personal favourite of Mr Jim Kenyon, Ferret has to wonder if this is another “jobs for the boys” (or girls)…
Just when we think it can’t get any worse more comes to light.
So let’s get this right.
JK evicts the previous tenants so he can move his “friend” in rent free.
He then has us the precept payers fund redecoration and new carpets.
We the precept payers then pay for her tech for a job that Mr Draper has confirmed in the staffing structure doesn’t exist. That we the precept payers are paying a wage for
A job that she isn’t doing as confirmed by the thefts etc from the water park but then how can you do a job that doesn’t exist.
You seriously couldn’t make this up.
What’s next all her meals will be being provided too, oh wait no that would mean it was a hotel not a flat. But then you have to pay to live in a hotel.
Question does she pay for her utilities or are we paying for those as well?
That would just be the final straw. When there are precept payers struggling to heat their homes right now.

There’s quite a number of very interesting “facts” here so I don’t expect to see any entries on the HTC “Corrections” page – but it will be interesting to watch, just in case.
Also, there’s a quite a number of unknown facts. I’d like to see these blanks filled in somehow, so we understand the whole picture and can assess “value for money” for ourselves.
I’m a great believer in transparency and honesty, and we should do everything to achieve this objective.
