Ferret asks people to remember the cabal Independent councillors’ manifesto in which they stated, amongst other things:
- Rejuvenate your Kinsley Waterpark
- Rundown for years
- Up date Install a Licenced Bar
- available for all to celebrate
- food vouchers for parking
- Summer POP concerts
- Longer better opening hours to turn around a £120,000 a year Deficit to a Profit
- Re-stock the fish ponds
(Please excuse the spelling/grammar it is taken directly from their leaflets distributed in 2019)
Well those things have gone well haven’t they!
To be fair though, they have made a good job of ridding our lakes of those nuisance fish that used to attract those anglers who did nothing but fish all day.
Come to think of it, they’ve done a good job of making it now an unattractive place to enjoy, enjoy the scenery and to walk.
The reason that Ferret raises these issues today, is because of the new opening hours of the Lakeside, they have actually reduced them, again.
It will be shutting at 5:30pm even in the summer!
We had also better not forget the “Ecclesgate” that also prevented entry to OUR Waterpark, as and when the cabal decided.
The summer evenings are when families are likely to visit and enjoy the Waterpark yet they close the amenities.
Now Ferret finds this absolutely ridiculous, closing so early in the summer months when people are home from work.
Isn’t the Waterpark supposed to create a service that the whole community can enjoy?
Then again, who would want to eat in the Lakeside Café, when even some of the Waterpark workers say it is overpriced now for what is on offer and take their money to the other nearby café.
Ferret has discovered that Independent Hemsworth Town Council have commissioned a new leaflet to market the Lakeside Café Bar and the Waterpark.
It is obviously aimed at attracting customers from outside the area but unfortunately it offers them “Free Parking”.
As we all know, free parking for visitors outside this community has now rightly been abolished so as they say, Hemsworth Town Council you have a problem.
False advertising comes to mind.
Legalities of course, don’t seem to bother Independent Hemsworth Town Council as we have seen, time and time again.
Of course Ferret could have got it all wrong and the Eccles’ could be opening up the Farmers car park that we cleared and fenced, to visitors as the free alternative for the “outsiders”.
Of course Ferret is only joking, but the Eccles’ may open it up and undercut the parking charge on offer at the Waterpark?
Oh dear, Ferret hopes that hasn’t given them another money making scheme, at our expense of course.
There are also other issues with the leaflet:
“Pedalos available Weekends and School Holidays”
Yet the minutes of the leisure and Recreation meeting reported “The town clerk reported that not all of the pedalos are functional thus will not be available for use this coming summer.”
“Enjoy a short stroll around our two lakes”
When the cabal are fully aware that the footpaths are dangerous and their “prison yard” fencing doesn’t make this easy at all.
In fact, somewhat impossible when the gates are locked and so is the Café.
Ferret just wonders who decided to go ahead to have these leaflets printed and distributed prematurely?
Maybe Jim Kenyon can use some of the stolen ink and paper procured from the Community Centre to produce a new factually correct promotional leaflet, instead of the usual bunkum he distributes just before an election…
After 4 years of total destruction of everything the community had pride in the Independent councillors that run HTC will need a A4 campaign leaflet just to list their disasters but hold on that would mean telling the truth to the community and as we have seen over the last 4 years lies, lies and more lies as been their motto.
The waterpark is no longer welcoming to parishioners whose precept money as been totally wasted and used to create a private members club and then used to erect prison metal fencing to keep the community out .Bet their manifesto won’t read come to the Lakeside cafe after work but be quick ordering any food or a drink we throw you out at 5.30pm what a joke roll on May ,time for huge changes.
Please post on FB Thankyou.
Once again acting independently of the council (no pun intended) I would have thought that any advertising would have to be put before the whole council. As with the advertising, I would have thought that operating hours was also a matter for the whole council. I understood that parking charges were to be reinstated for people from outside the community. Were these leaflets ordered before the good councillors took charge or do the independents think that they are truly independent. Time is coming for them to learn as I’ve said before that the law has long arms and the community has long memories.
Did full council know about the upcoming pamphlet if not why not ,who runs HTC? Individuals with no apparent accountability!
Who’s paying for the pamphlet?
Opening times need increasing to recoup some of the losses.
Take away sub committees ability to spend and make important decisions without full council approval, and dare I say it consultation with those little people (parishioners). Ask the public to gauge opinion about decisions its called transparency/ openness.
