Readers may remember that Alan Draper – Town Clerk and now it would also seem self-proclaimed head of propaganda and citizen control, previously wrote to a member of our community where he alleged:
“She was making council staff (plural) feel uncomfortable by drinking coffee, reading a book, writing in her note book and taking photos” at the Waterpark.
Silly Ferret, thinking that this was one of the reasons the Waterpark was created.
He even said he had received complaints but had provided no evidence.
This non-incident involved the Head of Security / General Manager – Samantha Knowles and a member of staff – all resulting in Alan Draper issuing the member of our community with a warning for allegedly harassing staff.
All she had been doing was enjoying a break in the Waterpark.
These accusations made her feel extremely uncomfortable, which prompted her to make a formal complaint to Hemsworth Town Council in August 2022, which is STILL being considered by “The Complaints Panel” some 5 months later.
She also included in her complaint an employee of the Lakeside Bar, because the employee had broken the Staff Code of confidentiality, which resulted in the employee’s relative defaming her on Facebook. The relative insulted her because of her alleged behaviour and said the police were involved.
She has heard nothing from the police.
The reason it wasn’t heard by the complaints panel and is still outstanding, is because Jean Eccles just decided to ignore it!
In spite of her formal complaint being left unheard, Hemsworth Town Council via Alan Draper, has now issued her with another letter and another complaint made by staff.
Ferret wonders which one of his “masters” have directed him to do so this time?

A complaint of harassment has been received regarding online comments you allegedly made – please see the attached screenshot.
The relevant council policy for such matters is the “Abuse, Intimidation or Rudeness Policy” – please see attached.
As per the attached policy, the standing panel appointed to deal with such matters is Cllrs Kenyon, McGinnies and Middleton. However, Cllr Middleton is not available so he has been replaced by Cllr J Eccles. Therefore, just to confirm – the panel will consist of Cllrs J Eccles, Kenyon and McGinnies.
The panel would like to invite you to meet with it at 10am on Wednesday 22 February 2023 at Hemsworth Community Centre, Bullenshaw Road, Hemsworth, WF9 4NE (If this time/date is not convenient, please let me know so that another appointment can be arranged). You are not obliged to attend. The purpose of the meeting is to establish the facts and for you to be able to provide your account. If you do not attend, the panel is empowered to make a decision in your absence (in accordance with the attached policy).

One of the most outrageous aspects of this, is the choice of 2 of the councillors who make up 2 of the 3 people on the panel.
Jim Kenyon and Jean Eccles!
This gets dafter and dafter and more outrageous, Eccles and Kenyon, two of the most offensive people in this community both in person and on social media.
A lot of which has been recorded or screenshotted by members of our community.
What has brought this on at lightning speed, particularly when there is the matter of an outstanding formal complaint to be heard?
Believe it or not it’s a comment on social media.
It is a satirical and innocuous comment, one about the unseen consequences of the Ecclesgate being removed, especially when compared to those made by Jim Kenyon and Jean Eccles’ and their standards.
Ferret has read the “Abuse, Intimidation or Rudeness Policy” referred to by Draper and finds no mention of Harassment being covered by it.
Ferret believes an allegation of harassment should be made to the police and definitely not referred to people to deliberate on who are two of the worst offenders in this community.
In fact, due to the Ecclesgate being involved, Jean Eccles should take no part in this at all.
Maybe they should use this time slot they have found for this to consider the 5 months and running outstanding complaint made by the resident?

Just who do HTC and Town Clerk Alan Draper think they are,we live in the UK or I thought we did where we are entitled to freedom of speech ,to be able to walk and sit in our free community owned park not a concentration state.
To issue letters and threats to a member of the public who is probably a decent honest human being is totally unbelievable and shocking.They then try to ask the person to attend a panel meeting to do what for godsake impose a banning order,the very people on the panel apart from councillor Mcginnies need banning permanently.We have seen what happens with HTC so called panel’s, Confidentiality Breeched and by non other than the former chair and on this farce panel Councillor J Kenyon who likes nothing more to share confidential statements with his friends.What a joke there should be NO internal panels what so ever and NO councillors interviewing any member of the public ,I would take it to the newspapers and TV see what they make of it local upbiding citizen sits in community owned park and is subjected to stress and upset by a local council and its councillor interigation board for reading and having a notebook WOW what a story for the reporter.It will definitely put the HTC on the map and waterpark don’t come with any writing or photography equipment you may just get a threatening letter to appear before a panel what a JOKE.
Is there signage up around the park or facilties to say you cannot do these activities ? this person was alleged doing.
Because I have seen people reading ,taking photos ,drinking beverages.
Anonymous no signage nor could there be ,we have all done and do it ,a nice sit ,latte take a few photos oh dear Town Clerk going to be extra buisy issuing thousands of summoned to a panel letters to us all ,he is going to have to delegate some of the letter issuing to his deputy or we could all meet up in our community waterpark for them to hand them out save on postage and have a reporter with his notebook and camera ready ,they would probably get a letter also.Great scoop for reporter though.
