The main focus of this meeting was a Planning Application which has been made for the construction of 27 dwellings on land at Tombridge Crescent, Kinsley (WMDC ref 22/02492/FUL).

This application involves the demolition of existing dwellings to provide access to a field known locally as “Bingley’s field” on which the new homes would be constructed.

The community were reminded by Councillor Hird that objections can be made and the Council could support these, if appropriate.

Public question time revealed some more important items for our community.

A member of the public asked for an update regarding the former allotment site off club terrace in Fitzwilliam.

Alan Draper – Clerk, revealed the land is already up for sale, much to the bewilderment of some Councillors who believe this had not been agreed to.

This led to a vociferous argument between Councillor Hird and Councillor Kenyon.

It may be acceptable in the local pub, but it isn’t in a Council meeting and not by our elected representatives.

Ferret is pleased that Council Hird apologised immediately afterwards, unlike Councillor Kenyon who failed to do so, which came as no surprise.

A full post from Ferret is to follow.

The poor state of the carpark at the Waterpark was asked about and Councillor Hird revealed that it was on the agenda for the full Council meeting to be held 2 February 2023.

A parishioner questioned the lack of notice boards, when the Council approved five to be installed back in April 2022 and up to date only two have been ordered and none installed.

Alan Draper was quick to blame Wakefield Council as “he had sent them an email and he can’t force them to reply”.

Ferret would like to remind Mr Draper he is paid a substantial salary and should be proactive to all issues. It always seems to be someone else’s fault, doesn’t it Alan?

It seems that the gate at the Waterpark, which the Independent Cabal installed, may finally be getting removed. Councillor Hird revealing that it had been placed on the agenda for the full Council meeting to be held 2 February 2023.

Ferret hopes that finally, our “good” Councillors will remove the gate which was illegally installed without any form of planning permission enabling unrestricted access once more to OUR Waterpark.

Finally, Councillor Hird stated that she was aware the Council Policies were in dire need of reviewing and updating and will be done so.

Ferret is pleased that a number of unresolved issues seem to finally being given the attention they deserve and hopes that following the meeting in February progress can finally be made…

  1. It could and should be a very large agenda at the full council meeting on 2/2/22 be very interesting to see if it is a full turn out from all the elected councillors .The public have many questions to put to the council and banging a hammer and move on will not help the public’s frustration into how the HTC have got into such a disastrous mess.A mess that all the good councillors must come together and support each other and the public and let the public see that they can and will undo 4 years of total destruction,4 years of total wastage of our communities money,4 years of self serving and 4 years that have destroyed the heart of our community all led by Councillor Kenyon and his bandits.Let’s hope all the good councillors show support and prove to the public they can and will use their votes to say NO to anything proposed between now and May that the Independants try to push or get through the back door and let’s hope come May we the public have used our VOTES to rid this community of councillors who have destroyed it.

  2. Let’s hope even some independent councillors can see the damage being done and vote for what is right!!!

  3. Unfortunately some of the Independent councillors are only hand raising yes voters that is when they attend to vote and are ordered which way to vote .They have no opinion on what is right, roll on May when the community can do what is right .
