Ferret thought that as we have a new and entitled Chair of Hemsworth Town Council and as Christmas is coming, it would be appropriate to give a brief résumé of just a few of the highlights or lowlights of their time in public office in line with the Ferret tradition. These are anything but fully inclusive or exhaustive.

Who can fail to recall the marquee tent that Hemsworth Town Council purchased that was even dearer than anyone available on the seller’s website, which was supposedly purchased to enhance and increase sales at the loss making Lakeside café bar?
It has been little used (other than for a certain Councillors Birthday Party) despite its cost and expectations and has been seen even less since.
Entries in the Town Council accounts have shown it needing expensive repair work despite it not seeing much active service, for the council and community anyway.
If anyone sees the missing marquee please contact the Town Clerk, then again it’s probably not worth the bother…
