Ferret thought that as we have a new and entitled Chair of Hemsworth Town Council and as Christmas is coming, it would be appropriate to give a brief résumé of just a few of the highlights or lowlights of their time in public office in line with the Ferret tradition. Ferret highlighted to readers about the dangers of the Womersley brain wave to put the Waterpark into a trust.
The Eccles’ have long coveted our jewel in the crown and had even had a gate erected outside their home to control the access to our park.
This community came very close to losing our prized asset, as the placing of the park into a trust could have facilitated the sale of the land and we would have been helpless to stop it.
It also seems very strange that those long coveted gates controlled by the Eccles, failed to prevent those expensive Quad bikes being stolen…
