Readers of Ferret will no doubt recall Ian Womersley and Jim Kenyon objecting to the planning application for the Costa Coffee on the old market place in Hemsworth.

It then subsequently transpired that neither of them had any objections to Councillor Eccles “Coffee Shop” which was to be built less than a mile away!

Moving on from Costa Coffee we now have “Costly” Coffee at Hemsworth Water Park.

Independent Hemsworth Town Council are paying £561.60 a MONTH to rent a hot drinks machine. The works out at nearly £7000 per year.

Ferret is sure a full business plan will have been created prior to making the decision and that Independent Hemsworth Town Council will be able to tell us all just how many hot drinks they need to sell each month just to break even….

  1. More insanity and cluelessness. If it stood a chance of paying for itself in the busier summer months then it certainly would not from September to May when there’s very few if any punters all in all making it a on cost loss maker. Oh and by the way I notice the KFC and Costa have not bestowed a plague or pestilence on the populus of Hemsworth or for that matter a orgy of civil disorder and violence as predicted on the contrary people actually like the places and neither have they created mass traffic problems as some were predicting
