Hemsworth Town Council has continually claimed the PA system used for meetings, has only the capacity to operate one microphone.
That microphone remains under the tight control of Mr Jim Kenyon – Chair Independent Hemsworth Town Council and is used to over talk and talk down people who ask questions he doesn’t want to answer.
By being under his control and his failure to share it also prevents people who actually get to ask questions being heard properly, either in the room or via the recordings the general public make on the night.
Ferret has already established that the PA system has the capability to operate at least two microphones including a headset and Hemsworth Town Council are in possession of both. If Mr Jim Kenyon used the headset then it would leave the microphone free to be passed to be used by others in the room.
This would involve no cost to the Council and would enable other attendees to be heard better, not only in the room but by the live stream or subsequent recorded video.
So, the obvious question is why are they not doing this?
No prizes given for the correct answer.
Let’s also look at another scenario and for once imagine Mr Jim Kenyon is not lying about the one and only microphone or the system’s capabilities, I know it’s hard to believe, so over the last few months why haven’t they remedied this situation and also made it routine to stream meetings?
It wouldn’t cost a lot and anyway given they were elected on a pledge of being “open and transparent” and spending money is no problem to them, it would open up the meetings to the wider general public including people with disabilities, who have now been told they must attend meetings in person to ask any questions themselves.
This is especially important as there are very significant financial decisions to be made in the near future that could impact the communities of Hemsworth Kinsley and Fitzwilliam for a long, long time…
They’ve also got the portable system, Bodger Kenyon uses when he’s playing action man in his soldier suit. Even that could be utilised but no way, his lies must be heard with no dissent allowed. Going to be interesting what vile erupts from his or crispy’s mouths to try to divert attention from the humiliation of the Supreme court judgement. He’ll need both loud speakers for that, I wonder when the penny will drop to him that he’s been rumbled for the lifelong liar he is and he’s just an embarrassment being laughed at.
They don’t want the meetings to be put online because they’re open to more scrutiny then and more people can see what they’re really like. But that’s already happening as people have been forced to resort to live streaming because the chairman and his pals are so against hybrid meetings. So all their points are invalid.
They had 2 microphones working in the extraordinary meeting a few weeks back
Elected on openness and transparency, all lies along with everything else they said and now having a go at the less able who want to ask questions that they don’t want to hear. They are an absolute disgrace and should be shunned by this community.
I saw something on Gogglebox last night when they were watching the news and a parish council tried to stop people asking questions. A man took a loudspeaker and talked over them to get his question asked. Might be an idea 😂
