Ferret has been contacted by a number of people who are in the process of purchasing their new homes from Saul Construction Limited at their Meadowcroft Development in Hemsworth.

Their main concern was the numerous delays in this development being completed and they have asked Ferret to investigate.

Following this investigation, Ferret can confirm the following:

As my readers already know, there is no doubt that the actions of Mr Jim Kenyon – Chair Hemsworth Town Council have unreasonably delayed the development of the former sports complex site off Kirkby Road in Hemsworth.

The drainage system for the development at Meadow Croft was originally planned to route via this site, consequently this has required that an alternate route had to be found for the drainage system to support Meadow Croft which in turn has delayed the Meadow Croft site and increased costs which feeds through into higher house prices.

Hemsworth Town Council objected to Saul Construction starting the development on the Meadow Croft site, because they alleged that they had not followed the Planning Approval conditions and this allegation had to be investigated by Wakefield MDC (Does this sound familiar?) This investigation took more than two months and concluded that Saul Construction had followed the Planning Approval and could resume the development works. It is apparent that Hemsworth Town Council, with their ongoing vendetta only objected to cause a delay, which resulted in not only another failure, but also incurred further legal costs for both parties

Therefore, the actions of Mr Jim Kenyon and Hemsworth Town Council has resulted in:

  • The Meadow Croft development being up to six months behind where it should be
  • The development costs for Saul Construction Limited have increased and as a result so have the prices of the houses for the people of Hemsworth
  • This has also prevented buyers from taking advantage of the reduced stamp duty on their purchase.
  • A loss of precept from the new homes which should have resulted in a lower precept for us all.

Ferret can see nothing positive being generated by the actions of Mr Jim Kenyon and Hemsworth Town Council with regard to the Kirkby Road development and more recently the Meadow Croft development.

This continuing vendetta is clear for all to see and the Hemsworth community deserve better.

The Court Case regarding the Kirkby Road Contract continues to incur heavy legal costs and the residents of Hemsworth will have to meet this bill, whatever the outcome but see no gain.

  1. How do HTC decide if they will pursue these legal cases? Does it start as an item on an agenda to be voted on? If not it feels like it should be with votes recorded so we can see who is supporting this.
The reason for this case seems spurious at the very least, one has to ask what did HTC have to gain by delaying the build? Did they use the same legal team? They must rub their hands together every time they are contacted.

  2. Seems Mr Kenyon has only one agenda and that is to make his arch enermy Mr Saul a lot of trouble
There is nothing in this for the benefit of hemsworth just a vendetta that he won’t let go
Seems to be the same for other people he has problems with
Is this man ( Mr Kenyon) actually in the right frame of mind to run a council
From what I’ve seen about other people if I was those people I would be seriously considering getting an injection out on this man and plenty of cctv they Seem to be getting scarey these vendettas he has

  3. they must record votes pmsl just looked at badger and 2 followers bitching they know who ferret is and blagged his wife stating who voted her out so votes recorded for there benefit …i dont care who ferret is i admire them for speaking out and alerting the public to whats going off…and ive reported badger for bullying his comments are headed in malice vindictive person who cant cope with freedom of speech..and my name is attached to my post i speak my mind dont hide under an alais

  4. Only one thing needs saying the man’s a vindictive idiot supported by morons.

  5. The financial cost to this community, the financial costs to the prospective buyers is enormous and totally unnecessary. The human cost in terms of distress as to whether they will even manage to own their own home at a price they can afford is not even comprehendible. All because Kenyon can’t be wrong and as always somebody else suffers because of his delusional behaviour while he plays on giving our money away and especially to other councillors.

  6. Let’s not forget ferret that Kenyon is not only is trying to undo the signed deal on the Kirkby road site but he also objected to the meadow croft site as well which led the judges to really slam his case. Well worth a read even the short version, really shows Kenyon up and shows how stupid and vindictive he is.

  7. Only solicitors I’ve seen Kenyon use is Richard Buxton
Kenyon must have his own filing cabinet and swivel chair in their office
And every time Kenyon has lost

  8. “In judicial review proceedings it is generally inappropriate for parties to seek to rely on documents (and to advance arguments based on those documents) which were not available to the decision-maker. Taken at its highest, such an approach undermines the entire process of judicial review.

“It runs the risk that the court will be asked to conduct a kind of rolling review, in which nothing is ever finalised or settled, and it does not matter what information was available at the time the decision was taken.”

Coulson LJ said such an approach would “only to encourage the all-too-prevalent attitude that, in judicial review applications, it is always possible to ‘have another go
And why not have another go when you’re not getting the bill lawyers dreams
