Anybody is allowed to record any Hemsworth Town Council meeting.
Ferret would just like to clear up some misinformation around the recording of Hemsworth Town Council Meetings.
Paragraph 8 of the media policy states:
The photographing, recording, filming or other reporting of a meeting of the Council and
its committees (which includes e.g. using a mobile phone or tablet, recording for a TV/radio
broadcast, providing commentary on blogs, web forums, or social networking sites such as
Twitter, Facebook and YouTube) which enable a person not at the meeting to see, hear or
be given commentary about the meeting is permitted unless (i) the meeting has resolved to
hold all or part of the meeting without the public present or (ii) such activities disrupt the
proceedings or (iii) paragraphs 9 and 10 below apply.
Ferret hopes that clears it up and I’m sure Mr Jim Kenyon – Chair and Mr Draper – Clerk, will facilitate any such recordings being made.
Will we ever get a written response to our questions submitted to Independent Hemsworth Town Council and Mr Kenyon from the meeting held on 12 October 2021?
Spot on ferret, charge your cameras and record to your heart’s content. Any one tries to prevent you phone the police as this is not just a town council policy but enshrined in law.
