Ferret is aware that long time “wannabe” Hemsworth Town Councillor and former “Special Advisor” to the council David Pringle and husband of Hemsworth Town Councillor Linda Pringle, has at long last been reported for intimidation and foul mouthed verbal abuse at the recent Hemsworth town Meeting.
Ferret believes that Mr Pringle has clearly breached the “Abuse, Intimidation or Rudeness Policy” which is Appendix 3 in the Standing Orders document.
Ferret will say no more at this point and await the outcome of the meeting called to deliberate on this matter. However given that his long-time friend and associate Jean Eccles will be in charge of the proceedings and her use of abusive language towards certain residents and precept payers of this township has caused concern and previously gone unpunished, the outcome looks decidedly unpromising.
The past record could well be a pointer to how the result of this investigation will unfold and to the way her leadership will go for the next year…

What’s very sad is the exodus to the water hole after virtually every Town Council meeting.
Everyone knows who drinks with who, and certainly some of our favorite characters have spent many a happy hour in local venues.
Nothing criminal in that. You can choose to be friends with whoever you like. But, it is noticeable that these friends never seem to share different opinions when it comes to decisions made in Council. And, it is noticeable that intimidating statements have been tolerated, when that would no doubt be reported if it came from Labour Town Councillors.
But, let’s wait and see. The new Chair may surprise us all.
