On my regular walk around the Waterpark, Ferret has noticed a number of groundwork vehicles which seem to not move very far and are usually parked up.
On looking through the accounts of Independent Hemsworth Town Council, Ferret came across entries for three of them:
Dec 2019 £24000 Hydraulic Excavator
Jan 2020 £13200 Tipping Dumper
Jan 2020 £4800 Double Drum Roller
So, a total of £42000 of YOUR money has been spent on this equipment.
Ferret has to assume that each piece of equipment also requires ongoing maintenance, insurance etc.
Ferret also wonders how Hemsworth Town Council has managed without these in the past?
On looking further into the purchase of these three pieces of machinery it looks as though Independent Hemsworth Town Council were very lucky indeed.
They were able to purchase all three from the SAME company: A Proctor Groundworks Limited.
Who were based at a residential address in Hemsworth: 29 Wood Moor Road Hemsworth Pontefract WF9 4JR, but no longer does so.
Ferret hopes a full procurement process was followed…
i asked why these were not used on farmers carpark saving us 4k response was they did not have the machinery then also enquired if anyone was qualified to operate the plant kold yes 2 one full time employee n 1 part time but could not release evidence of dates any of them took or passed a course to operate the plant equipment
if they went to expense of sending 2 for the qualification why not 2 full time , maybe the part timer is used in cronyism n paid handsomely cash in hand when using said plant all eyes on correction tab
I have heard Mr Kenyon refer to the second “part timer” as not actually working for the Council and he works on a “as and when” basis.
So we have spent money allegedly on someone not actually employed by HTC, with no guarantee that they will be available when needed and now qualified to work elsewhere. Something wrong here, Kenyon at it again by the looks of this, more Kenyon expertise.
is there any minuets were the purchase of these was first brought up ie what purpose will they serve what instigated the need for such plant also who decided which operatives would be sent to gain qualification maybe i should email draper maybe he as in meetings ive seen said i propose we purchase them if so have they done and presented their due diligence of running costs and other costs of housing such plat like maintenance costs cost of operative courses etc for operatives to gain required qualification, btw this aint bitching its asking if common practice was performed
None of this took place. Remember – They were also purchased BEFORE being approved at the Town Council meeting.
