The Hemsworth Town Council Leisure and Recreation meeting scheduled for the 2 March 2023 has an agenda containing items that can only be described as originating from clown school or the Kenyon Skool of Komics.

Whilst we still have a large number of items requiring attention, that are seriously overdue our cabal controlled Town Clerk, Alan Draper has placed the following items for discussion and consideration at the meeting:

In exclusion of press and public

2) Sandygate Football facility

To consider the pay to play service on the 3g pitch at the facility.

Ferret wonders if this is yet another attempt to prevent our local children using this facility?

Again residents may remember the Independent “cabal” led by Kenyon, Eccles and Womersley stopped pay to play very early on after their election in an attempt to give sole use to certain football teams of which they had very close connections.

It was later revoked after a public outcry and the children were allowed in again.

Kenyon’s Cabal “stole” the sink fund that had been put in place by the previous council for any repairs to the 3G pitch and used the money elsewhere such as the bar, diggers, legal fees, toys for staff and services for their own councillors to name but a few things they considered essential.

Then of course when the 3G pitch needed repair the cupboard was bare, as the saying goes.

Ferret believes this may be another Kenyon plan to blame the children for any repair work needed and by stopping them will reduce the bills and as a result leave sole use to the footballers once again.

This is so wrong on every level, the sports facilities and all Hemsworth Town Council facilities were created for use by the whole community, and they are paid for by every household and as such should remain available for full inclusive use.

D) Security – including the patio fence/gate

This should be a no brainer, simply do not renew the alcohol license, remove the fence/gate and save all the way to the bank by once again making OUR Waterpark and Lakeside Café and children’s play area a family friendly and welcoming facility for all to enjoy.

Ferret does wonder why Alan Draper has placed this item in the exclusion part of the meeting?

Is there anything to be discussed that the public should not be fully aware of?

Maybe the ‘good’ councillors should ensure that these items are discussed in the main part of the meeting to ensure “full openness and transparency”.

  1. The alcohol license definitely needs to go and all the let’s face it, downright hideous ” improvements” that have destroyed a once beautiful park. It needs returning back to a venue that has a welcoming face for families and not somewhere that just eats money for the benefit of a select few.

  2. Exclusion, exclusion, exclusion how the HTC councillors and Town Clerk love that word, the fact of what they are due to discuss in their exclusion impacts the entire community and our parishioners but instead of engaging with the members of the public and listening to the parishioners concerns, wishes and ideas on how to include all the community they prefer to ask the public to leave and conduct vital discussions and most definitely votes in EXCLUSION.We have to wonder why,it’s not open,Transparent or why the public should not be seen and should not be heard and we definitely have seen that some of the decisions taken in exclusion have definitely NOT been in and for the public’s best interest. The sooner our community see more open and transparency and honesty in meetings the better after 4 years of behind the closed ,secrecy Town clerks doors even as we have learned closed to full council and only the cabal privy and their friends.Time for change and time to involve all the community and Time the community had our say roll on MAY and our VOTES.

  3. Why do such trivia items on agenda need to go to exclusion, anybody would think they don’t want you to hear anything ,,perhaps it’s time to change ipolicy as to what needs to go into exclusion instead of left to vested intrested parties, this just shows what utter contempt they have for the parishioners. I say don’t put anything into exclusion let’s see what there Upto ,what’s trying to get pushed through before May The town clerk should be made to give a explanation as to why its gone to exclusion by other councillors and answers published.
