In May 2019, Kenyon and his Independent cabal colleagues were elected on a manifesto based on lies.
Ferret readers will recall, former (now disgraced) Chair of Independent Hemsworth Town Council, Jim Kenyon made numerous unfounded allegations against the previous Labour Council and their financial dealings at this time.
This culminated in him scouring the country, to find a renowned expert in forensic accounting, subsequently engaging Frenkels Forensic Chartered Accountants to carry out a “FORENSIC INVESTIGATION” into the former Town Councils accounts from 2016 to 2018 and their draft accounts for 2019.
The total cost of this FORENSIC INVESTIGATION was £6000. This covered THREE years of accounts.
The report exonerated all of the former Councillors and Town Council employees.
Ferret continues to believe that, we as a community have been badly let down by our councillors and their decision to break the Town Council resolution to undertake a FORENSIC AUDIT into the Independent ‘cabal’ financial dealings since they took office in May 2019.
With the publication of the report, it has confirmed a non-forensic audit has taken place which is not worth the paper it is written on.
We have been lied to on a number of occasions by our councillors about this investigation including the cost, which we were assured was going to be less than the previous FULL FORENSIC AUDIT into three years of accounts which cost £6000 from the fully qualified forensic expert.
How much has this new non-forensic report cost us?
According to Jim Kenyon over £6300, at least £300 more than the previous FULL FORENSIC audit.
Ferret wonders if Councillor Donna Moran, who has defended this non-forensic report from the outset is going to apologise to this community, accept she got it wrong and ensure a FULL FORENSIC AUDIT is commissioned immediately…
It’s hard to say I was wrong for some.
But now is a golden opportunity in front of the parisoners at the next meeting
