  1. You just couldn’t write this. HTC is becoming a laughing stock and bringing shame to the community it purports to represent. Anyone watching tonight’s meeting on Zoom or Facebook will see that there is no transparency and not even pretence of democracy. The Chair and the usual suspects don’t even want to listen to questions from the public, and the last thing on Earth the Chair will allow is an explanation that a Councillor wished to give for his vote against her. It is clear that this lot are going to lurch from one heavily censored meeting to the next, and so on. In the meantime we become the butt of everybody’s jokes. The community that couldn’t get its Town Council to represent it with dignity, efficiency and transparency. The community who wasted half a year to get to a Parish vote of no confidence in its former Chair, only for him to continue as the Puppet Master.

Is there anything we can actually do to restores some integrity and dignity to this tired and tarnished Council?

  2. In tonights meeting a resident was asking the town clerk about his employment and qualifications etc. Mr Alan Draper proclaimed he has worked for four parish councils in the last 10 years. What he failed to tell people was that as well as his role for town clerk of Hemsworth, he is also currently employed as town clerk of Thorpe Audlin. So he is doing two jobs at once…Wow what a guy !
