  1. This may not be strictly relevant to this particular posting, but it has to be stated.

I understand that there is a real possibility of another (male) friend of the Cabal being Co opted onto the HTC.

In May this year, there was a meeting at the Community Centre, and at the end of it I was waiting in the Foyer to speak with Mel Jones. Before Mel came over to me, I was approached by this male who referred again to the residents of Springvale as a lynch mob. He also said they’d upset his wife and that he now didn’t care a damn about the people of Hemsworth. Subsequently, this male went to speak with another member of the public and he said to her that he hopes they build skyscrapers in the field at the back of Springvale.

Now, everybody knows who this person is and they have witnessed him being aggressive in other meetings. There have been complaints made before and after this episode, but he still comes in to meetings and intimidates people. Maybe he doesn’t have the intention to do so or lacks insight as regards his behaviour. But, here’s the rub. There are supposed to be principles that govern the conduct of our Councillors. Where is the one that says it’s appropriate to behave with a lack of care. Because this is exactly what this man’s behaviour amounts to. He simply doesn’t care who he upsets, and let’s set the record straight once and for all. We are not scum and we are certainly not a lynch mob. It is clear that no one who has the power to do anything about our concerns regardimg a number of our councillor’s conduct is going to look at HTC. It’s down to the public to make its own mind up and to use the democratic process whenever it can. This is not just at elections, but it is also by attending meetings like the one scheduled for tonight.

  2. David, I wrote to the clerk to reminded him that HTC have a duty of care to both the public & councillors attending these meetings. And shouldn’t feel threatened or intimidated by anyone.

  3. Tonight was the first meeting I’ve watched in a while. Mainly because I’d got sick of listening to the absolute bull that was spewing out of the cabal gobs.
    Well nothing has changed.
So basically councillor Hirst has publicly admitted he has no intention of representing the people who elected him to represent them. Also admitted he doesn’t have time to do it because he works full time.
So if he knows he hasn’t got the time to commit to being a councillor perhaps he should resign.
He admitted he doesn’t agree with his constituents, which fair enough he doesn’t have to. He wasn’t elected to agree he was elected to represent.
I give up. I fear not enough people realise what’s going on and how corrupt the cabal are. People who think it’s all wakefield’s fault and don’t realise the rot is far closer to home. Wakefield are not totally blameless but when the people who are meant to fight for us can’t be bothered and don’t care then Wakefield will carry on ignoring us.
    Just my opinion.
