Ferret can confirm that Councillor Shane Folletti has resigned from his position of Councillor representing the South Ward in Hemsworth.
Since his election, Mr Folletti has been a serial “abstainer”, sitting on the fence in important votes where he could have made a difference.
Once his resignation is confirmed by the Electoral Services Office at Wakefield Council, an election to replace him will only be arranged if a request is made by TEN local Government electors for the Hemsworth Town Council – South Ward.
If this does not happen, Independent Hemsworth Town Council will be able to select someone of their choice to fill the vacancy by co-option.
