At last Thursday evenings three 3 Hemsworth Town Council Committee meetings, at long last, we saw the Independent Cabal Town Councillors Chairs and Vice Chairs replaced.
They were dethroned by 5 Labour party Councillors and one former Cabal member.
The new Chairs and vice chairs are respectively:
Leisure and Recreation Committee
Chair: S Middleton (Labour)
Vice Chair: P Hardacre (Independent)
Finance Committee
Chair: D Moran (Labour)
Vice Chair: M Hird (Labour)
Policy and Planning Committee
Chair: M Hird (Labour)
Vice Chair: S Middleton (Labour)
Let’s be under no illusions, this is not the end of the cabal and their disastrous, self-centred financial mismanagement of our Community but it should be a good start and an early start while we wait for next year’s elections to hopefully rid this community of the blight that this Independent cabal of:

- Jean Eccles
- Gordon Eccles
- Linda Pringle
- Graham Hirst
- Eric Mitchell
- Stan Wilson
- Shane Folletti
have brought to this Community.
A blight that will not be corrected overnight and will take many years for the financial and physical impacts to be corrected.
The next few months should now enable these Committees to review everything that the cabal members have undertaken and have in the pipeline to undertake, such as the land deals etc.
Ferret hopes they will now release the details of the meetings etc. that were held in secret regarding the Club Terrace land and also the real reason why the Allotment fencing was relocated at the Wanneville Allotments putting our children in danger.
There is some hard and possibly unpleasant work to be done, but this community deserves answers and truly “open, honest and transparent” answers and no less.
