It has been a long standing tradition, that each Chair of Hemsworth Town Council has their picture taken wearing the Town Council chain.
Since the Community Centre on Bullenshaw Road in Hemsworth was opened, these have all been proudly displayed in the Council Chambers.
In 2019, when Independent Hemsworth Town Council took over from the previous Labour led Town Council, two of these photographs “disappeared”.
Ferret can reveal the photographs were of the two previous Labour Chairs of Hemsworth Town Council.
In a recent Town Council meeting, when questioned about this Mr Jim Kenyon denied all knowledge of their whereabouts and even went so far as to blame the Town Council Clerk – Mr Alan Draper.
Unfortunately for Mr Kenyon, a previous Town Councillor has revealed he witnessed Mr Kenyon remove the photos.
Maybe Mr Kenyon could explain his reasons why he he chose to do this?
