Ferret has been thinking about what would Hemsworth look like if Mr Jim Kenyon – Chair Independent Hemsworth Town Council and Mr Ian Womersley – Independent District Councillor had got their own way and prevented the sale of the former Sports Complex site on Kirkby Road in Hemsworth.
This, alongside many other of his campaigns to stop progress in our Township would have meant a very different place for us all to live in.

Everybody that knows anything about the old sports “complex” knows it was a money pit. An underused and uneconomic facility which was costing us all money. The track which incorrectly measured out, and was decaying, was not fit for purpose. Incomings weren’t even enough to pay for upkeep of floodlights. Pitch wasn’t even that good either. All it was is a money pit, and Kenyon has wasted even more precept money on the crusade over it. There needs to be a reckoning.
