Further to my original post below, Ferret has been provided with further information regarding Independent Hemsworth Town Council Spending £42000 of YOUR money on three items of machinery.
Independent Hemsworth Town Council authorised the purchase of these in a Policy and Planning Committee Meeting on 17 December 2019.
284 PLANT MACHINERY
Resolved to procure plant machinery to assist the grounds maintenance section with allotments clearance and other maintenance matters.
Ferret finds it strange that all three were purchased by Independent Hemsworth Town Council on 3 December 2019, FOURTEEN DAYS BEFORE they were authorised. 😲
Original Post
On my regular walk around the Waterpark, Ferret has noticed a number of groundwork vehicles which seem to not move very far and are usually parked up.
On looking through the accounts of Independent Hemsworth Town Council, Ferret came across entries for three of them:
Dec 2019 £24000 Hydraulic Excavator
Jan 2020 £13200 Tipping Dumper
Jan 2020 £4800 Double Drum Roller
So, a total of £42000 of YOUR money has been spent on this equipment.
Ferret has to assume that each piece of equipment also requires ongoing maintenance, insurance etc.
Ferret also wonders how Hemsworth Town Council has managed without these in the past?
On looking further into the purchase of these three pieces of machinery it looks as though Independent Hemsworth Town Council were very lucky indeed.
They were able to purchase all three from the SAME company: A Proctor Groundworks Limited.
Who were based at a residential address in Hemsworth: 29 Wood Moor Road Hemsworth Pontefract WF9 4JR, but no longer does so.
Ferret hopes a full procurement process was followed…

[…] So, in over two years the only investments that Independent Hemsworth Town Council have made has been some plant machinery which was dubiously purchased; more on that here […]
