David Pringle: “Special Advisor” to Hemsworth Town Council

Many of Ferret’s readers will be aware of David Pringle, who to date has been a very divisive figure in our community.

For many years Mr Pringle’s attitude to members of this Township has been distinctly rude and threatening, especially to members of the opposite sex.

He has tried and failed on many occasions to be elected to Hemsworth Town Council only to be appointed by Mr Jim Kenyon’s Independents to serve the Council as an Advisor. The reason given for this appointment was for his “expertise and knowledge” of the former Sports Complex site on Kirkby Road in Hemsworth.

Ferret has to wonder what actual qualifications he has, that made his services so essential to Hemsworth Town Council and hence this community?

The only one that comes to Ferret’s mind is the anger he demonstrates at having lost the view from his house that he must believe he purchased in perpetuity as part of buying his own home adjacent to the former Sports Complex site.

He may of course have other “qualifications” possibly from the same place that issued Mr Jim Kenyon’s teaching certificate, that he can’t locate in his loft along with his teacher registration number.

The ever-faithful Mr Pringle is always on hand to interrupt members of the public to save poor Mr Jim Kenyon when the questioning is getting tough and too near to revealing the truth or what a site to behold when he taps his watch to move the Chairman of the Council along to the next business.

Such is the power and influence of this advisor.

The rescinding of the contract by Mr Kenyon for the Kirkby Road site ended in dismal failure leaving us with a bill of £137,792.02, that we the community will have to bear.

Money that could have and should have been put to better use for the benefit of our residents, if only someone (Mr Pringle?) had advised them to read the legal advice that had been available for years for them to utilise in the council offices.

Mr Pringle’s special advisor role is now obviously redundant as Mr Kenyon maintained his track record of losing another legal action.

Has Mr Pringle’s now been removed from this and any role with Hemsworth Town Council?

Will he now be treated as any other resident and rebuked if he rudely interrupts?

Will he now leave his watch at home and let the Council conduct its business in a right and proper manner?

Has Mr Pringle received any kind of payment including any expenses, if so how much and in the light of the disastrous handling and loss of the attempt to rescind the deal with Saul Construction, does he now intend to reimburse the Council (this community) of any payments he may have received?

Time to go Mr Pringle, and as both you and Mr Kenyon were not actually voted into office on the ballot papers, if the Council won’t end your service, Resign.

Mr Kenyon your time is coming to an end, save the hassle that is coming your way and Resign as the Chair of the Council and as a Councillor so we can start repairing the damage you have done sooner rather than later.
