Independent Hemsworth Town Council seems to have a very strange way of dealing with both Freedom of Information Requests and Subject Access Requests which members of our Township make.

It is a legal requirement that Independent Hemsworth Town Council respond to these requests and have a set time limit to do so.

Ferret therefore finds it extremely strange that both of these appear on the agenda at Town Council Meetings.

Agenda 16 June 2022:

14 SUBJECT ACCESS REQUESTS

The town clerk to report on two (anonymized) subject access requests and to authorize the respective responses accordingly.

15 FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUESTS

The town clerk to report on (anonymized) freedom of information requests received and to authorize the respective responses accordingly.

No details were provided by the Town Clerk, Mr Alan Draper and he was instructed to respond to them accordingly.

Maybe Mr Draper could inform us all why he doesn’t just follow the law and respond as soon a possible to these requests without a deliberate unnecessary delay…
