It was plain to see, at the Leisure and Recreation meeting held on 4 November 2021 that Mr Alan Draper, Clerk Independent Hemsworth Town Council is under the control and influence of Mr Jim Kenyon, Chair.
When Mr Draper was asked a simple question re his previous time as Labour Councillor (2011 – 2018) when he also served as Vice Chair of Hemsworth Town Council, Mr Drapers body language immediately changed – He was unable to even form a simple sentence due to his visible discomfort and blustering.
To paraphrase, He was simply asked “If he was aware of any financial wrongdoings by the previous Labour led Hemsworth Town Councillor when he was a Councillor”
When he eventually responded to this simple question he said “I am not prepared to have my personal and private life broadcast to the public”
Well unlucky for you Mr Draper, when you put yourself in the limelight as a Town Councillor you are a servant of the public. You DO have to answer simple questions as you were asked, you can not simply pick and choose or refuse.
Your offer to meet the member of the public “over a cup of tea” isn’t acceptable either.
We are all aware of the continued misuse of Public / Precept money and budget allocations. The misuse of Town Council staff as free labour for personal gain and Hemsworth Town Council assets being misused for Councillors own purposes and even denying legal access to the Waterpark.
As Town Clerk you are paid a very generous salary. A very generous salary to keep the Town Councillors in line and not to allow them to abuse the position entrusted in them.
Unfortunately for us, and yourself moving forward, this doesn’t seem to be the case. You are the one ultimately answerable for your actions, you are the one with your paid employment at stake.

Finally, and directly linked to the question asked of Mr Draper, The Frenkel Report commissioned by Mr Kenyon due to his ongoing repeated accusations against the former Labour Town Councillors and Labour led Hemsworth Town Council found they had done nothing wrong. However, this did cost you over £6000.
so kenyon says draper was only there for a month my maths equat 2011 to 2018 ae several years
I believe Kenyon was being economical with the truth and as usual trying to divert away from the actual question. He may have been referring to how long Mr Draper had been the Clerk to Hemsworth Town Council.
I felt myself that the offer to speak privately was not right. I noticed the body la gauge of JK was quite defensive at times arms folded across his body. Transparency? Do they need to invest in a dictionary so they can look up the meaning of transparency.
Well said Ferret, Drapers role is to ensure the council works within the law and more morally within the spirit of the law. I believe that he has failed on both counts.Only he knows why, possibly Kenyon also. The Town clerk got jailed at Brierley for fraud, come clean or get ready for some porridge.
thats what i tried to ask kenyon if he sought advice from draper who was part of the old council therefore he would have knowledge both refused to answer prompting my accusation of dereliction of duty both could have talked with each other and saved thousands in failed costs looking into the books which have btw ben certified as ok by kenyons own investigation team but hey he hasn’t but the precept up maybe they will after the venga calamity
But they have had more precept money in because of increasing numbers of houses and government covid grants so income has increased and services cut so less losses. They haven’t given one penny back of the pledged £200000, in fact kept it and more besides
Hi, Kevin, Badger is back today pulling down a councillor (a woman again!)as well as other BS .I know you like to read Badgers drivel and thought you would like to know. Dont know whats sett him off again..somebody must have stuck a firework up his backside lol 😀…well it is bonfire night.
What Badger has said is true. HTC is led by treachery, lies, betrayal, revenge vendettas, intimidation and misinformation. And who’s responsible for that?! The chair and his friends, and there’s no doubt “Badger” is one of them.
remember the nonchalant ambiguity upon trying to answer is car parking free on bonfire night erm, was there a charge for parking , could not have been in water park so how about farmers i was informed traffic was parked both sides of eroad half on pavement forcing families to walk on road were there was a bus/car collision
just been informed they charged 2 and 3 pounds for parking cllr jean eccles clearly stated twice at meeting parking was free
